Due to its medicinal properties, Greek Mountain Tea has been one of the most popular Greek herbs since ancient times – additionally, it has also been used as a daily refreshment and energy boost for many people around the world.
It is also called shepherd tea.
Furthermore, Sideritis Scardica (ironwort, mountain tea), an indigenous plant of the Balkan Peninsula has been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of gastrointestinal complaints, inflammation, and rheumatic disorders.
